The Spectra Project

During this summer term our BTEC Performing Arts group have been working with Spectra on photography and video at mac birmingham. They have been working with industry professionals Kate Green and Scott Johnston on a 6 week project that was overseen by Bethan Ball from Spectra.

For the first 3 weeks one group worked with Kate on photography and the other group worked with Scott on video. The groups then swapped over for the remaining weeks to experience both skill areas.

In the sessions with Kate they have learnt about the camera and how to take effective photographs of each other to use as their headshots. With Scott the group created, filmed and edited their own show reels about themselves and their skills.

Students from BTEC Creative Media have also assisted on this programme which has been great work experience for them. The group presented their work at mac birmingham to family, friends, QAC staff and students. A truly wonderful experience for all involved.
