QAC LEAP Retail students gain bronze medal at national skills competition
Three students from LEAP Business & Retail visited Derwen College on the 28th March. There they showcased their creativity and teamwork in a national skills competition, taking on the challenge of an Easter-themed visual merchandising contest.
Demonstrating the QAC values, they worked together to design stunning displays. Their hard work and dedication paid off as they secured 3rd prize in the competition, with each student proudly earning a bronze medal.
Commenting on their experience of the competition, QAC student Bobby said: "I actually enjoyed it, it was good to be out, we did our best and I'm grateful we managed to get a medal from it", whilst Troy described the day as "interesting and spectacular", adding: "I feel happy, we can improve more for next year, but fair play we've done it."
Their achievement reflected their commitment to high standards and professional integrity, making the competition a true celebration of skill, creativity, and teamwork.
Haley, LEAP Retail and Business Tutor said: " I am so pleased that the students were able to demonstrate their skills outside of the college environment. They represented QAC very well, and I am proud of the effort and commitment put in by each and every one of them, we can't wait for the chance for them to compete again next year."
QAC student Bayley described the day as "the most amazing experience I have ever had!"
Well done to everyone involved, it's great to see students' skills showcased outside of the college.
