Sport tutor Wendy speaks at the European Congress of Adapted Physical Activity

Back in February, our Sport tutor Wendy submitted an abstract for a presentation to the European Congress of Adapted Physical Activity about our ground-breaking, unique powerchair football programme we run in collaboration with The Albion Foundation, which was accepted and she was invited to attend the conference.

Wendy attended the congress at the University of Worcester on the 3rd and 4th July to present an evaluation of our Powerchair Football Academy programme, which has now been running for two years. The first cohort of students on the programme has just successfully finished and Wendy was explaining about all the successes the students have achieved both academically and in football.

The title of Wendy’s presentation was “Sport for All? Considering the impact of a unique elite programme of powerchair football in a specialist further education setting”

She presented to academics and practitioners from England and all over the world including Ireland, USA, Brazil, Spain, China and Czech Republic
