QAC Students take part in Ski Training week with the Special Olympics West Midlands Ski Group

Early this year, two of our students, Daniel, a Creative Media Student and Niamh, a Performing Arts student, took part in a Ski Training week with the Special Olympics West Midlands Ski Group.

Daniel who has previously competed in Special Olympics GB's first National Winter Games where he came out on top with a gold medal was was filled with enthusiasm for the opportunity to train alongside Niamh.

Forty athletes, supported by another twenty carers, volunteers and parents, travelled to Pila, Aosta in Italy. The Italian mountains and the highest calibre ski instructors hosted the group which saw Niamh and Daniel take on the most challenging and highest black runs.

The group also enjoyed a surprise visit from former British Olympic Skier and Ski Sunday presenter, Graham Bell.

Niamh's mom, Tracey stated "It was so lovely to see both Daniel and Niamh represent QAC so well.  They were well-mannered, engaged, willing to learn, respectful and great team players.  It was wonderful to witness.  Thank you to everyone at QAC for their continued positive input and dedicated support in helping Niamh become the very best version of herself, it is appreciated more than you will ever know".

We are very proud of our students and can’t wait to see what amazing things they do next.
