QAC Students host SporTea session for local businesses

We had a fantastic way to wrap up the term! Fourteen different representatives from CMCS, Handelsbanken, Jigsaw Printing, Ricoh Europe, UC4 and ACC Unique all attended Queen Alexandra Charity on Friday 25th October to participate in a SporTea session.

The SporTea session started with an hour of various sports in the college sports hall, led by our VOC and LEAP Sports students. The activities included goalball, wheelchair volleyball, badminton, and table top cricket different accessible sports our students partake in during their sessions.

The second part of the session welcomed the corporates to our on-site QA Cafe where our LEAP Hospitality students served and made cakes and drinks for our guests.

This event was not only a great opportunity for businesses to gain a greater understanding of the work of the charity, it also supported the students’ learning, offering them the experience of running an event and leading groups of people through sporting activities and offering hands-on experience in a real hospitality setting.

Thank you to the corporate representatives who spent the morning with us and a massive thank you to the students and staff who helped run the event.
