QAC students celebrate World Braille Day

In College we celebrated World Braille Day, with different groups from the college being able to learn more about why Braille is important and how it can allow visually impaired people to communicate.

Students learning about Braille

The students and staff found this very helpful and enjoyed the activities surrounding Braille, which included typing their names using Braille embossers and writing sentences in Braille.

Created by Louis Braille, aged just 15 years old, braille is a unique tactile writing system of raised dots that blind and partially sighted people can read by touch.
