QAC Star Wars club receives funding after successful Dragon's Den pitch
Each year, our students get the opportunity to practice their research, communication, presentation and money skills by pitching for investment in front of 3 "Dragons" at QAC’s very own Dragon’s Den.Students have opportunity to put forward their proposals linked to Enrichment activities which support the development of softer skills such as social communication and confidence, in order to win funds to participate in these activities.
It is a huge deal for students to research and prepare their presentation, justifying costs and reasons as to why they should be supported by the dragons. Dragon’s Den is supported by the fundraising arm of the QAC charity and the kind donations made by many of our supporters.
QAC's Star Wars Club gave an excellent presentation that earned them £400 to spend on technology and interactive games. They said, “The ‘QAC Padawans’ have had a great time in Star Wars Club today. They have started their Jedi training where they had to guide BB-8 to the Millennium Falcon avoiding the Tie Fighters and then relaxed and played their new games. Thank you QAC Dragons, you were a great help! May the Force be with You!”
This is the 3rd time Dragon’s Den has taken place, with 25 student projects having received over £6500 in project donations, by convincing the dragons to “be in”!
