QAC puts the spotlight on Bardet-Biedl Syndrome for #RareDiseaseDay
Rare Disease Day falls annually on the last day in February, with the objective of the day being to raise awareness of rare diseases and to highlight the impact they have on sufferer's lives.
This year we opted to put the spotlight on Bardet-Biedl Syndrome and invited representatives from BBS UK to come in to college and speak to staff and students about the condition. We welcomed Patient Support Officer Amy Clapp and ex QAC student Aneeba Ahmed. The session was very informative and our students took a lot away from the day, having learnt a lot of new information about the condition!
Thank You to the BBS UK representatives for providing an informative day to our students and staff as well as raising awareness of Bardet-Biedl Syndrome!
