QAC hosts another successful "Dinner in the Dark"

We recently hosted our second "Dinner in the Dark" event at the Macdonald Burlington Hotel, with nearly 70 diners being plunged into darkness and taken out of their comfort zone as they enjoyed a two course meal.

This year, hotel staff were more involved with the event, having sighted guide training before the event and helping guide diners to their tables, where table hosts gave minimal help during the evening, encouraging diners to find their way around the table and fend for themselves, serving their own drinks and condiments.

Lots of fun was had and laughter heard, especially when everyone took part in the ‘Play-Doh cat’ challenge, where they had to work together on their table to create a Play-Doh cat! This year’s event was part of the Macdonald chain’s own challenge to host 25 events during their 25th anniversary year, and as such was also raising money for Muir Maxwell Trust, raising over £2000 to be split between QAC and MMT.

Thank you to everyone who came! We look forward to the next event.
