During the day, we had a series of workshops taking place which included; cooking healthy local, seasonal sustainable food on a budget, which we also invited some of our student's families to join, making a personalised body butter to support skin and hair, plus a talk about how to take care of your gut to support physical and mental health by Cara at the Mindful Gut.

Some of our Hospitality and Media students played a key part in supporting Barnardo’s on the day by using their industry skills in food preparation for an event, customer service, photography, filming and interviewing, working alongside industry professionals from Harrow Soup Kitchen, Barnardo’s SEEN charity and more!

Following the College day, we also hosted a round table event where 20+ delegates from Food Systems across the Midlands attended - some of our Independence Plus clients also spoke openly about their own drive for healthy futures!

Thank you to Barnardo’s SEEN Charity for choosing QAC to host this brilliant event to drive awareness of Healthy Food and Futures, and to the families who could join us on the day, we hope you enjoyed the dishes as much as we did!
