QAC Garden Centre opens its doors to the public

Umberslade Nurseries is now open to the public with a range of plants and garden sundries available to buy in the retail shop.

The site, located in Selly Oak, was previously occupied by Birmingham Rathbone. Umberslade Nurseries measures just over an acre in size and consists of five large polytunnels and  a 24 ft greenhouse.

As part of this wonderful project QAC students enjoy regular group visits to the site to tend to the plants and shrubs plus carry out general garden maintenance.

Students will also have the opportunity to produce garden  items such as bird boxes, feeders and trugs – all to be sold in the retail shop.
