QAC Awarded National Accreditation for Work Experience Provision
QAC have successfully achieved the Bronze Standard level for their Work Experience provision. The Fair Train Work Experience Quality Standard accreditation means that the College has met the necessary requirements to gain an external quality assurance for high quality work experience and employability provision.
The Work Experience Quality Standard is a national accreditation which recognises those organisations offering high quality work experience opportunities to their learners, and manages risk effectively. It also acts as a framework for development to help organisations to plan, run and evaluate high quality work experience programmes.
Fiona Bilsborough, Employment Pathways Manager at QAC, said: “We are delighted to receive this national recognition. Staff at QAC have worked really hard to support students and help them gain valuable employability skills that will boost their career prospects in the future.”
During the academic year 2015-16 our Employment Pathways programme achieved 76 external and 136 internal placements. Students on our Supported Internship programme also had the opportunity to work in a range of roles with employers including National Grid, The Co-Op, Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Holbeache Farm, The Big Lottery Fund, Umberslade Nurseries, Citizen Coaching, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Baskervile School, C Seeker and Interserve.
This accreditation covers many vital areas which ensure a successful and worthwhile placement for both the student and employer. This will also ensure that future placements for our students are created within the same framework and to the same standard, giving both the student and employer a valuable experience.
