QAC and OCS Foodhouse served up award!
OCS Foodhouse and Queen Alexandra College (QAC) are delighted to have achieved national recognition for the fresh and healthy meals it serves to students.
Its balanced and creative menus have been recognised and acknowledged by being presented with the Soil Association’s Food for Life Served Here Bronze award.
Mike Holmes, OCS Foodhouse Manager, commented “OCS are very proud to have achieved the Bronze Food for Life Served Here accreditation. This has taken a lot of hard work over the past few months and it helps reinforce to our customers that the food they eat every day is freshly prepared and locally sourced.”
By making use of fresh seasonal produce from approved suppliers Mike and the team, including Head Chef Zeph, have ensured it caters to a variety of cultures, tastes and dietary needs including vegetarian, halal, gluten free and dairy free options.
The next aim is to hold the Silver Catering Mark by spring 2018 which focuses on the use of organic, ethical and environmentally friendly food.
