National Supported Internship Day - Charlotte's story...
On completion of her Level 1 BTEC Diploma in Health and Social Care at QAC, former student Charlotte progressed onto the College’s Supported Internship programme at Pinewood Campus.
Supported by knowledgeable QAC Job Coaches, Charlotte completed three long-term placements, all in different sectors, and successfully secured a full-time ‘meet and greet’ role with HSBC Bank.
Preparing students for their next steps away from College is essential. The College supported Charlotte to develop the skills that she needed to navigate the world of work and identify what she wanted to do after her time at QAC.
Since commencing paid employment at HSBC, Charlotte has continued to progress and develop in her role and is now a branch Meet and Greet Coordinator.
Charlotte commented: “I feel really happy as I never thought that I’d ever get a job! With the right support from positive people, and by having determination you can achieve things in life you never thought possible, despite your disability! Never say no to an opportunity, because you never know what door it can open and what path it'll take you on!”
