Brewers donate paint to QAC Independence Plus houses

Today, QAC received a visit from Dean Fullwood and Darron Oakes from Brewers Decorator Centre in Minworth. They were delivering a donation of paint worth around £350 to the charity for use in the refurbishment of one of our supported living homes known as Independence Plus.

Independence Plus was developed in 2010 because QAC identified a need to sustain the independence that students were developing while at the college. It was found that residential students had gained in confidence and also developed useful living skills during their time with us, and so it made sense to continue to develop this independence through providing supported living in the local community.

Our Independent Plus accommodation and Community Services provision ensure support for those after leaving college and benefit hugely from charity funding. The charity supports refurbishments, additional activities and all the clubs that we run are only possible due to fundraising.

"We're incredibly grateful to Brewers for their support of QAC. I had outlined the plans to Dean about how we were looking to refurbish one of our homes and he was immediately on board. This support means that our maintenance budgets will now be able to stretch a little further and we can achieve even more for the benefit of our students and clients across our services." Cathryn Worth, Head of Income Generation.
