Birmingham Disability Sports Fest 2013
The Birmingham Disability Sports Forum recently launched their first ever Sports Festival Week at Alexander Stadium with QAC very proud and excited to be part of it.
Sport & Recreation students, Ryan and Suraj, along with staff members, Wendy and Sarah, attended the event on Saturday 26 October where they were able to meet Paralympian Claire Cashmore.
Claire, who won two silver medals and a bronze medal at the 2012 Paralympic Games, officially opened the Festival and spoke to guests about how it’s important for there to be opportunities in disability sport.
Ryan and Suraj had the opportunity to speak with Claire about what it is like to participate and compete in top level sport and she gave them the chance to see her medals before they joined Wheelchair Rugby GB for a taster session.
