Work Placement Case Study - Vocational Art

NAME: Angel 

PLACEMENT: Stryx Café and Art Gallery

ROLE: VR Assistant

Angel completed a two-month placement at the Stryx Gallery, where she learnt how to use VR headsets to explore exhibitions and to become familiar with the exhibiting artists and their works. The purpose being to be able to support visitors who wanted to experience Art through virtual reality.  

Angel commented: “My long-term goal is to access voluntary work or have a job within an Art capacity, therefore completing the placement has been interesting and highlighted the amount of work that goes in to pursue a career in this industry.”

When students are able to gain real-life work experience it can help develop their skills alongside their course at QAC and prepares them for life after QAC.
