Level 1 Award/Certificate/Diploma in Creative Media Production (QCF)

Entry Requirements:
•  An Entry Certificate Level 3 in a relevant qualification
•  Related interests and experiences
•  An appropriate standard of literacy and numeracy

Programme Outline:
The Level 1 in Creative Media Production is a nationally-recognised qualification giving you an introduction to the skills, qualities and knowledge that may be required for employment in a particular vocational area.

The programme encourages you to explore and enhance your creative media skills and knowledge. This is achieved through various projects using a wide range of different media and highly specialist equipment. The unit’s focus is on developing the essential elements in Creative Media Production.

These include Developing Creative Media Skills, Audio Production, Editing, Website Software, Using the Internet, Developing Multimedia Products, Graphic Design and Digital Photography, to name a few.

There are three pathways to the Level 1 in Creative Media Production dependent on your entry qualifications and experience:

 Level 1 Award in Creative Media Production (QCF)
This is a 7-credit programme where you will be provided with an introduction to the skills, qualities and knowledge that may be required for employment in the Creative Media Production sector.

Level 1 Certificate in Creative Media Production (QCF)
This is a 16-credit programme, which extends the work-related focus from the Level 1  Award and covers knowledge and practical skills that may be required for employment in the Creative Media Production sector.

Level 1 Extended Certificate in Creative Media Production (QCF)
This is a 27-credit programme. 

Level 1 Diploma in Creative Media Production (QCF)
This is a 37-credit programme, which extends the work-related focus from the Level 1 Certificate. It is suitable for those who have decided that they wish to enter a specific area of work or progress to a related general and/or vocational qualification.

Duration:
Start dates for these programmes are flexible, with completion usually achieved within one or two years depending on individual progression.

Progression:
On successful completion of the Level 1 programme you can progress to the  Level 2 in Creative Media Production. Alternatively you might want to seek employment in the Creative Media Production sector or move on to a related vocational programme.
