Our Values and Intent
Queen Alexandra College aspirations
The curriculum at QAC is broad and ambitious and meets the diverse needs of students. The curriculum is designed to maximise adult life opportunities for all students. Opportunities may be through increased independence, higher academic achievement or through skills that enable employment. The curriculum covers academic, therapeutic and support provision, all of which are essential components for success for QAC students. All QAC students are in receipt of an Educational, Health and Care plan (EHCP).
QAC makes a positive difference to the lives and learning of people with disabilities and learning difficulties, having high expectations of staff, students and clients and being responsive, innovative and collaborative. We aspire to always embrace the principles which underpin Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and believe in 'Empowering Abilities, Inspiring Lives'.
At QAC, we also have high expectations of each other with regards to QAC values, British values and in addition, 'FREDIE' values (listed below). 'FREDIE' values are what we celebrate at QAC as part of our aspirations to align with being Leaders in Diversity and we interweave these values into our own. 'FREDIE': Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement.
We incorporate the following QAC values into our daily College life and behaviour:
- Respect
- Inclusion

At QAC we not only aspire to always uphold the underpinning principles of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) but to continue on our journey to be recognised as champions and leaders in this field. The QAC charity thrives on and celebrates its rich and diverse college and community and all of us at QAC are fully committed to ensuring that our stakeholders further benefit and flourish as a result.
We will continue to improve by listening to staff, students and clients, making QAC an influential and recognised voice as a Leader in Diversity both now and in the future and look forward to working with and learning from the expertise of others as we continue on our journey.
