Independence Plus clients enjoy a day trip to Blackpool

Some of our Independence Plus supported living clients enjoyed a day trip to Blackpool recently, home to iconic UK landmarks that include Blackpool Pleasure Beach and the awe-inspiring Blackpool Tower.

During their visit to the famous popular seaside resort, the group spent some time in the arcades, on the beach and eating fish and chips. Whatever a student or client's level of independence, socialising, having fun and building friendships is an important part of being at QAC.

Independence Plus was developed in 2010 because we identified a need to sustain the independence that students were developing while at QAC. We found that residential students had gained in confidence and also developed useful living skills during their time at College, and so it might make sense for them to continue to develop this independence at QAC as supported living clients living in the local Harborne community.
