Independence Plus client receives certificate of appreciation from BHF

One of our Independence Plus clients, Izzy, has received a certificate of appreciation from the British Heart Foundation, in recognition of her volunteer work over the past two years in their Harborne shop.

Izzy helps out in the shop two days a week, and is responsible for steaming the clothes, putting items out on display and has recently begun to develop her skills using the till when taking payments. 

During her time at QAC, Izzy started on our Preparation for Life (PFL) programme before progressing on to a Hospitality course, developing her independent living skills along the way by living in one of the residential houses on campus. When Izzy left QAC, she moved to Independence Plus which is QAC’s supported living provision. 

Izzy really enjoys her time volunteering at the British Heart Foundation, and is well supported during her shifts.
