Sightline Telephone Befriending

Everyone needs somebody, but not everyone has someone.

Sightline’s telephone-based befriending service is designed to reduce loneliness and isolation in the visually impaired community.

Regular phone-based befriending can be arranged at a convenient time for you. The service is staffed by Sightline’s amazing team of dedicated, friendly, trained volunteers; the majority of whom have close experience of sight loss. They provide much needed support and friendship.

Sightline matches people based on common values and interests for telephone calls at an agreed day and time and will provide the service for as long as people feel they want it.

The results of befriending can be very significant; often providing a new direction in life, by opening doors to a range of activities and increased self-esteem and self-confidence.

If you think you might benefit from a telephone befriending relationship, call or visit the website to find out more.

The delivery of the befriending service is totally dependent upon Sightline’s amazing, but rather small, team of trained volunteers. We are always keen to speak to people who may like to volunteer; could you offer an hour a week and become one of their Sightline Superstars?

Head over to the website to read some wonderful Sightline Stories about how the telephone befriending has such a positive impact on peoples’ lives. How good would it feel to be part of that?
