Royal Society for Blind Children

We know that a vision impairment diagnosis can affect your whole family. Through our Families First service, we work with anyone in the family to support their emotional wellbeing because of vision impairment in areas such as resilience, self-esteem, self-identity and confidence. This is usually in the home or education establishment – your choice. https://www.rsbc.org.uk/for-families/families-first-sight-loss-support/ The Families First team also host a range of supportive, online groups such as Connecting Families and Moving on Up for those moving on from Primary school. We can also support with any benefits or grants application.

The Services Team run a wide range of online groups such as Sisterhood, Boys Crew, LGBTQIA+, Audio Book Club etc. The team also run individual advice sessions on Assistive Technology and our Futures Programme for 13years upwards who would welcome some advice and support for their future career choices. All of our groups and activities can be booked via our website https://www.rsbc.org.uk/calendar-of-activities/ At our specialist Further Education college, Dorton College, our students are able to follow an individual programme of academic learning and skills development. https://www.rsbc.org.uk/get-our-help/dorton-college/
